The Country Motor Lodge, just a short walk from the Historic Inn and nestled in an apple orchard, opened in 1960. The Country Motor Lodge offers 63 standard hotel rooms and overlooks the Publick House and is connected via private walkway and road to the Inn. Last stay, we had a dog and it was so well appointed on the ground floor for that. Best thing is a great restaurant (10% discount for those staying). Bed was comfortable and room was clean. The property itself is very nice and has beautiful flowers and plants throughout.

The magic of history is all over this place. The staff goes out of their way to assist guests. Food is excellent and the value cannot be beat. The Publick House Historic Inn was established in 1771, and maintains its 18th century ambiance while providing 21st century comforts. Our 17 guest rooms in this historical setting are decorated with period antiques or reproductions and each room is unique. The rooms in the Inn are located on the second floor, and stairs are required to access them.

The location was perfect for going to Sturbridge Village and shopping at all the shops on Main Street. The restaurant at the Inn was delicious. All the staff were beyond helpful and friendly. Each of the spectacular four seasons offers a special opportunity for activities that appeal to the young and the young at heart.
